Digital Innovation for Tuscan Tourism: Integrated Platforms for Planning and Transparency
The objective of SuperUrbanity's project for Toscana Promozione Turistica is to provide two digital platforms that, on one hand, enable the management, validation, and implementation of tourism strategies and initiatives for the Tuscany region, and, on the other hand, make the results and progress of the planning easily accessible to citizens.
The primary goal of translating complex planning processes from paper to digital was achieved through the design of an accessible user experience.
Digitalization for Tuscan Tourism: Integrated Planning and Transparency
The project developed by SuperUrbanity for Toscana Promozione Turistica focused on the creation of two integrated digital platforms designed to support regional tourism planning and ensure greater transparency and accessibility for citizens. Through a systematic approach, it was possible to transform complex, traditionally paper-based processes into functional and intuitive digital solutions.
Initially, a thorough analysis of the existing protocols was conducted with the aim of optimizing them for the digital transition. This phase included a review of data flows and a redesign of the planning questionnaires used by the 90 territorial areas involved. The new questionnaires were redesigned to streamline data collection, ensuring greater efficiency and standardization through the creation of a modular component library.
The project resulted in the development of two distinct but complementary platforms. The tourism planning platform was designed to synchronize regional strategies, ensuring an accessible user experience even for those less familiar with digital tools. Through an inclusive and gradual design approach, the platform allows users to leverage new technological opportunities without losing sight of traditional methods.
In parallel, a public platform was developed, accessible from both desktop and mobile devices, dedicated to data visualization and the promotion of tourism strategies. With a minimal graphic design consistent with the Toscana Promozione Turistica brand, this platform offers a simple, intuitive user experience, organized to clearly present the information and initiatives developed at both the regional and local levels.
Efficiency, Transparency, and Innovation: The Benefits of Digitalizing Tuscan Tourism
The project led to a significant transformation in the tourism planning processes of the Tuscany Region, enhancing both efficiency and accessibility. The digitalization of protocols optimized internal procedures, allowing territorial areas to work more coordinately and consistently with regional strategies. This fostered greater synergy among local entities and created a unified vision for tourism development.
At the same time, the public platform made the work being done more transparent and understandable, enabling citizens to easily access data, strategies, and ongoing initiatives. This strengthened the relationship between institutions and the community, promoting clear and direct communication.
